At Southminster Child Care Center, we seek to provide a physically safe and emotionally secure setting where children can explore and experiment with a variety of materials and experiences in a supportive and confidence-building atmosphere.  This environment promotes and helps to develop the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth of each child.  We believe that each child is a unique individual with a variety of interests, needs, and abilities.  Through developmentally appropriate daily activities, each child will learn his/her self-worth, while also learning the importance of respecting and helping others, sharing, making friends, resolving conflicts, solving problems, and developing a lifetime love of creative living and learning.

    Southminster Child Care Center is a private, non-profit child care program, which is licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Public Welfare and is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).  SCCC is the only NAEYC accredited center in Mount Lebanon and has had a perfect inspection record with the DPW for the last three years.  Its operation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and a paid Director.

    Southminster Child Care Center accepts children without regard to race, color, sex, religion, national origin, ancestry, or handicap status.
